Will Brexit boost NEC show caravan and motorhome sales?

Will Brexit bring buyers to the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show 2020?

As the doors open to the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show at the NEC, Birmingham tomorrow (18.2.20), every exhibitor is sure to be hoping for a post-Brexit boost to sales figures.

Last year was challenging to many businesses in the UK caravan industry, while other countries, like Germany, reported new sales records.

We all want 2020 to be better.

This is the first NEC show since Britain left the EU last month, so everyone in the industry will be eager to see how it goes.

Many buyers who may have postponed purchasing a new caravan, campervan, motorhome or holiday/park home, will hopefully now feel more comfortable and ready to make a decision – and give the UK caravan industry a welcome boost.

I’m sure I saw a story that the caravan show in Scotland achieved a record number of visitors. That’s encouraging.

I heard that bookings for caravan and motorhome holidays have been down while people were uncertain what was happening with Brexit. That’s good news for holiday parks and campsites in the UK.

Owning a caravan, motorhome or holiday home is a lifestyle choice, so Breixt worries won’t have squashed this. The desire will still be there, so will this translate into action to buy? We’ll have to wait and see…

So, the rest of this week is going to be very important for the UK caravan and leisure industry. Let’s hope it’s a successful and profitable one.

I will be there for the first two days of the show and look forward to seeing how things are going. Can’t wait.
